What is the difference between a pellet stove and a wood stove?

A pellet stove uses compressed wood pellets as a sustainable and carbon-neutral fuel. A pellet stove is controlled digitally. This makes a pellet stove work very efficiently. The pellets are automatically dosed into the burner pot. This controlled combustion makes the pellet stove very economical and therefore cost-saving. The modern wood-burning stove, on the other hand, burns logs. These logs have to be fed manually. A wood-burning stove requires more maintenance and cleaning. A pellet stove is dust-free because of its closed combustion chamber. A pellet stove gives much more comfort in use just because it works fully automatically. A wood-burning stove is not fully automatic and consequently requires much more work for lighting, firing, cleaning and maintenance.

You can easily set a pellet stove in power. In the different power types, the pellet stove provides a certain amount of heat. There is always a minimum output, which is often around 2.5 kW. If the minimum power is too much for the room, the temperature will continue to rise. You may only experience this in spring and autumn. This is because it is less cold outside then, which ensures that the heat disappears from the room less quickly.

You can choose to fire the pellet stove in STAND-BY mode. The pellet stove will then switch itself on and off automatically when it gets too hot or too cold.

A pellet stove offers superior energy efficiency. A pellet stove is CO² neutral. A pellet stove has very pure and clean combustion and therefore a much longer autonomy thanks to its automatic pellet feed system and the very finely tuned combustion system in relation to the pellets used.

Yes, these stoves use renewable fuel sources and emit less CO₂ than traditional heating systems.

Pellets with an EN+ A1 quality mark and light colour are suitable for your pellet stove. These pellets consist 100% of clean sawdust from spruce and pine. Hardwood has never been added, as this can cause many problems for your pellet stove. Pellets without this quality mark can cause damage to your stove. Pellets with a hallmark meet minimum requirements, so the composition is largely the same. If the pellet does not meet the EN quality mark, the composition may change and the stove will have to be recalibrated accordingly each time. In addition, it is unknown what substances are contained in unapproved pellets, as they are not checked regularly.

It is very good to have a pellet stove serviced annually. A pellet stove also usually gives a service message. The annual maintenance of a pellet stove is specialist work and is carried out by Ecoheat Pro's technicians. You only need to make an appointment. Until that time when the technician comes, you can of course continue to use your pellet stove as usual. After the cleaning, the service technician will also reset the pellet stove.

The safest way is to have your pellet stove and flue cleaned annually. The service technician will then prematurely reset the firing hours so that you can always continue to fire without any worries. A well-maintained pellet stove will give you many years of trouble-free heating pleasure!

A modern pellet stove has highly efficient combustion. This combustion ensures that few soot particles remain because they are completely burned. If the adjustment of the pellet stove is not correct, the glass pane may turn black. This means that soot particles are deposited on the inside. This can be prevented by having the pellet stove properly adjusted by your technician. The adjustment also depends on the pellets used, but also on the draught in the flue.

Note that a grey or brown deposit cannot always be completely prevented. The pellet stove is designed so that an airflow always blows past the window pane. Here, soot has no possibility of sticking to the window pane. However, if you use the pellet stove in too low a power, the air flow along the pane will also be less powerful and it is possible that the pane will become slightly dirty.

It may happen that the stove stops receiving power. While the plug is still in the socket. Also, the remote control is not connected to the stove at that time. This can happen if you pull the plug out of the stove and the fuse holder becomes loose. It is then important to press the fuse holder properly.
At the back of the stove is a glass fuse. This glass fuse can fail due to a power failure or peak voltage that can occur in the power network. The glass fuse is located under the plug (left) or between the plug and the on/off button. It can be clicked out with a small flat screwdriver. The glass fuse can thus be replaced.
